A Lawyer by qualification and an actor by passion, Sumit worked at diverse workplaces, viz. an NGO, The Supreme Court, The High Court, Corporate firm. His last outing was as a criminal Lawyer in Delhi, before he forayed into the magnetic and spectacular world of 'telling stories', as an actor, which he realised, was his 'real calling in life' and quit his established practice. In his words, he doesn't practice law, only abides by it now.

An avid reader of Literature, Sumit is also very fond of World Cinema and pursues them with great passion. He actively practices Kick-boxing & Yoga, and is extremely particular about his fitness levels. His 'voice projection' is the sharpest tool of all his skills and can change it completely at any given moment.

Having done amaeture theatre as a student with plays like, 'THE FRENCH MISTRESS', 'THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL', 'THE DUMB WIFE OF CHEAPSIDE', 'THE MASTER & THE ALDERMAN', Sumit was also a part of a series of plays staged by the reputed NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA at the Delhi University; 'AADHE ADHURE' and 'GIDDH' by the noted playwrights of high repute, Mohan Rakesh and the legendary, late Vijay Tendulkar. He also walked the ramp for the 'Elite Modelling Agency' in 2006.

He played the lead in a Sufi music Video, composed and made by the Bais couple, the star choreographers, Winner of 'Nach Baliye', 2009. After showcasing his talent as an actor in two short films, 'AMIGO' and 'THE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY', Sumit has returned to theatre once again with 'THE DREAMSELLERS'.
